June in NoCo, lots of momentum for Dementia-Friendly Communities

June in Northern Colorado has been a month of increasing dementia awareness and momentum building for "Dementia-Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado."   In addition to the communication strategies class taught by Katie Fahrenbruch (Alzheimer's Association Regional Director) open to the public, people from many agencies and organizations have participated in dementia education this month: The Community Advisory Committee, Foothills Gateway, The Northern Colorado Pulmonary Clinic, The Loveland Chilson Senior Center, The Community Case Managers at UC Health, and several groups of staff at Associates in Family Medicine.  We also finished the first season of the B Sharp Arts Engagement program and the final focus groups met last week to discuss the impact of the B Sharp program for participants.  Anecdotal evidence supports us offering the program again next year.  Research results should be known in August.   Keep rocking, Northern Colorado!   Pulmonary_office_staff_June_2016_resizedChilson_Sr._Center_June_2016_resizedCAC_resized_June_2016Chilson_Sr._Center_2_June_2016_resized
